Rasheed Richard Howard has been playing trumpet for over 38 years.  Throughout his career, he has toured with many jazz artists and groups such as 'The Sun Ra Arkestra' and Cecil Taylor.  Rasheed's smooth jazz band, 'New Hype Jazz', has studied with Dave Burns, Richard Williams, Donald Byrd, Cecil Bridgewater, Woody Shaw,

Al King (aka Hassan Hakim), Gilly Coggins, and Kasa Allah.  Additionally, he has been mentored by Rodney Kendrick, Denton Darrion, Charles Carrington, and Wally Gator Watson.

Rasheed Howard has played and has been featured in most major jazz clubs around the world.  He is well-known as "the man with two trumpets" to jazz enthusiasts who have had the unique opportunity to watch him perform live.

His current vision is to put together the best unknown talent in jazz, known as the 'Jazz Collective.'  Rasheed works continuously to keep the art of jazz alive, and makes the Jazz Collective's music accessible to everyone by playing in outdoor public spaces around New York City.
