Since the release of his debut solo album, Life is Sweeter..., life has truly been delicious for Jerry Cherry, a talented and versatile musician who has spent the last four years touring as rock n' roll legend Chubby Checker's lead guitarist. He's shared the stage with stars such as the Beach Boys, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry, whose famous Gibson ES355 stereo guitar Cherry had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on stage in 2011. Cherry has appeared on NBC's Today Show, CBS's The Early Show, and the hit Lifetime series Matched in Manhattan. His most recent video for his single "Freakshow" has received wide acclaim, and has been featured on Fuse TV. He has even performed at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Life Is Sweeter..., which was produced by Cherry himself, and mixed by multi-platinum engineer Mike Rogers (John Lennon, Sinead O'Connor, They Might Be Giants, Dee-Lite), is a song cycle that encapsulates a year's worth of love and living in the city in a catchy and powerful 11-song mix. "I lived it," Cherry says simply about the album and his time in New York. A singer-songwriter whose insightful lyrics and melodies combine the best elements of rock, blues, folk and rockabilly, his sound is Top 40-meets-indie rock with an emotional depth that lingers long after the last note. As a solo artist, he has opened for bands including Buckcherry, Better Than Ezra, and The Fixx.
